About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

SCISSOR SESSIONS is a casual drop-in for artists working with paper and collage. Meet and chat with other artists, make some collage with our materials or bring your own project to share for feedback.

Collage explores new ways of re-imagining our surroundings and making strange what is familiar. As a ‘copy and paste’ medium it has never been more relevant in today’s image-saturated society. A springboard for many creative solutions, collage can be found as a tool for artists, graphic designers, architects, teachers, coaches and fashion designers, and it does not require elaborate materials to begin.

Collage Working Club (CWC) is a weekly open workspace for artists working in the medium of paper. Organised in the format of alternate ‘drop in’ sessions and workshops masterclasses, it has both a regular facilitator whilst also involving the artist community in the sharing of knowledge and skills. Providing materials, education and connections is the primary aim of CWC, and it achieves this through the interdisciplinary art of collage as both an art form and a tool for personal growth.

The group occupies a physical space at Largo Residências, a cultural and social project at Jardims do Bombarda, Lisbon.

----------
