About this event
This hands-on workshop welcomes both beginners and experienced participants, blending the traditional craft of embroidery with the creative process of collage-making.
Jeanne will share insights into her creative practice and how her family history has influenced her work. Through this, you’ll explore how personal stories and heritage can shape artistic expression.
You will learn how to enhance your imaginary landscape collages with embroidery—using stem stitch and backstitch to define shapes, cross stitch, feather stitch, and French knots to add texture, and blanket stitch to frame the composition. Threads will bring depth and movement to your artwork.
This workshop will inspire you to reflect on your own heritage and background, using a variety of materials to craft a one-of-a-kind embroidered artwork to take home.
Designed for artists, crafters, and creative explorers, this session is perfect for anyone looking to expand their artistic practice by merging different mediums.
All materials provided—feel free to bring an image that resonates with you.
No prior experience required.
Workshop facilitated in English, French, and a tiny bit of Portuguese.

Collage Working Club (CWC) is a weekly open workspace for artists working in the medium of paper. Organised in the format of alternate ‘drop in’ sessions and workshops masterclasses, it has both a regular facilitator, whilst also involving the artist community in the sharing of knowledge and skills. Providing materials, education and connections is the primary aim of CWC, and it will do this through the interdisciplinary art of collage as both an art form and a tool for personal growth.
